Batch 3.5 is extremely limited and will most likely be our final production run of Tan CAG Sets. Production and upper-receiver conversion work have already begun. These are low-volume, custom-manufactured components, so delays remain possible.

- BLACK LOWER CUSTOMERS: The optional CAG marking package does not apply to black lowers. Please skip to the “Black 416D Lower” section for info on the Black 416D receivers and the info on the optional markings.
● TAN CAG SET INFO ●
Each matching set includes:
• HK 416D upper receiver converted and refinished by IMC to CAG Specs, void of markings as a perfect "Blank Canvas"
• IMC 416D CAG Tan lower with color-filled selector markings 1:1 same as originals - more info on the lowers below
• IMC × Shadow Strategic 7075 trigger guard: 1:1 reproduction of factory TG - anodized to match
• IMC six-position buffer tube anodized to match: We possibly will have roller bearing german style buffer tubes
All components are anodized together for the best possible color consistency!
HK 416D UPPER CONVERSION
Conversion work includes, as required:
• Ambidextrous charging-handle relief cuts
• Sear-clearance cut
• Correct rail-slot numbering
• CAG-specific bushing-retaining roll-pin hole
• Factory HK bushing individually timed to the upper and pinned
• Custom-made phosphated retaining pin
• Professional refinishing after machining
CAG TAN FINISH
Original contract HK RAL8000 7075 components serve as our color and finish references, our anodizer will be given the parts to dial in the color prior to anodizing just like we did with Cag Tan #1
Several RAL8000 variations appear on original contract CAG weapons. We have developed two representative shades:
• CAG Tan 1—lighter early-contract tan
• CAG Tan 2—slightly darker medium bronze-green tan
CAG LOWER RECEIVER
Features include:
• 7075-T6 aluminum construction, milled from a solid chunk of the highest quality billet
• Correct 1:1 416D receiver profile PLUS we had the original style german broach reproduced, we are the only company offering the correct broaching.
• Factory-style selector markings with color fill, cut just as they are at the factory with the same tooling, we spent months dialing these in
• Discreet Manufacturer information inside the trigger well
• MFR serial number on the bottom, D0000 format, we make them in series allowing the faux serial to be added to the side just like the factory rifles
• Standard USGI M16 fire-control pocket just like the German originals
• Compatible with FRT-style trigger systems
• Clean exterior with no HK trademarks or magwell markings
OPTIONAL CAG MARKING PACKAGE
Available only for Tan CAG Sets - The package includes:
• Period-style decorative serial markings on the upper and lower
• Matching serials as delivered from the factory or a reference correct crossed-out upper serial treatment, commonly photographed
• Decorative rack number in the appropriate range and location, 1:1 just like the originals
• 1:1 front-magwell warning marking, we will not engrave the sides of the magwell simply have your engraver add this info
• Reference-based MIL-STD-130 data matrix tag made from the correct original material
The crossed-out option recreates documented examples in which an upper’s previous serial was crossed out and replaced with the serial corresponding to the lower.
- These decorative markings are separate from the required manufacturer serial number located on the bottom of the lower.
- We do not reproduce HK trademarks, the HK logo, or original HK manufacturer markings. The left and right sides of the magwell remain blank for customers who choose to have additional engraving completed separately.
MARKING DEVELOPMENT
More than 100 hours of development went into this marking package, including artwork refinement, original-reference research, period-correct formatting, and more than 100 engraving tests on tan hardcoat anodizing.
The data tags use proper MIL-STD-130 material with a layout recreated from original CAG reference examples.
The upgrade price reflects the research, artwork, testing, and specialized materials behind the package—not simply the engraving time.

The optional CAG marking package above does not apply to black lowers, we know this is confusing including them on the same ad. Optional markings for the BLACK lowers detailed below

• Finish matched using original 416D and military/leo surplus uppers - the finest available
• 7075-T6 aluminum construction
• Correct 416D receiver profile PLUS we had the original style german broach reproduced, we are the only company offering the correct broaching.
• Factory-style selector markings with color fill, cut just as they are at the factory with the same tooling
• Manufacturer information inside the trigger well

OPTIONAL BLACK LOWER MARKINGS
When your lower reaches the engraving stage we will contact you, review the available options and provide you a separate quote. Here is what we CAN do and what we can not do. Lets wait until its time to engrave to discuss, we are a very small shop and I need to spend as much of my time mfring as I can.
- Faux serial number: Uses the customer-provided number, with the correct font, size, and placement matched to the specific 416D reference configuration. Serial number placement varied across production periods, so positioning is based on the upper or rifle being replicated. We have spent years cataloging these details, and this is the most common engraving done incorrectly which is why we are providing it as a service.
- 1:1 front-magwell warning marking
- We can add the correct Devgru Data matrix on the magwell in the right format and color OR the correct 24th STS data matrix under the serial number - we will go through this with you when we talk.
- These decorative markings are separate from the required manufacturer serial number located on the bottom of the lower.
- We do not reproduce HK trademarks, the HK logo, or original HK manufacturer markings. The left and right sides of the magwell remain blank for customers who choose to have additional engraving completed separately. We will not ship the lower to someone who will add the markings as a policy, I understand others do but we simply can not. We focus on providing you with the FINEST 416 lower made that is painstakingly created one at a time, in the right color with the right selector markings cut with the original tooling.
ABOUT THE IMC 416D
The IMC 416D lower was developed using original German 416D receiver sections, four live 416D post-sample reference weapons, and original raw German 416D forgings.
Extensive work went into recreating the original forged profile while manufacturing from billet. Final-production receivers are virtually free of visible machining marks under normal inspection.
IMC has specialized in highly detailed USGI and military-clone weapons for more than ten years. Batch 3.5 incorporates everything learned through the first three production batches and represents our most refined 416D offering to date.
